Sheet Moulding Compound
Compression molding, in which the mattress of thermosetting composite material (mainly polyester matrix) reinforced with glass fiber of 25 mm length under the effect of pressure becomes liquid, filling the cavity and polymerizing thanks to the heat induced by the mold. Traditional formulations with a density of 1.9 kg / dm3 are being combined with particular formulations, for example low density or with a low percentage of volatile components and / or residual odors.
